Washington Hearing Society Gives Back Fund

| Program Guidelines:The Washington Hearing Society is dedicated to supporting its members and community of Washington State. One of the ways WHS supports its communities is by assisting in implementing accessibility for people who are hard of hearing and educating the public on hearing loss and hearing prevention. This mission of Washington Hearing Society Gives back is to facilitate and support individuals with hearing impairment within the community. The vision of Washington Hearing Society Gives Back is to provide assistance to organizations or individuals to make experiences more accessible and to provide education on hearing loss and hearing preventive measures. The purpose of the Washington Hearing Society Gives Back Fund is to provide a contribution to candidates or organizations intended to improve accessibility for those with hearing impairment or educated individuals on hearing loss/hearing prevention. The WHS Gives Back Fund award will be on an individual basis review by the WHS Board. |
Criteria and Eligibility:
- Applicants’ intent to improve accessibility within their community or organization.
- Intent to improve accessibility for personal use.
- Advocate or educate others about hearing loss and/or preventive measures on noise exposure.
General Instruction:
- Reference application form below for a list of needed documents. Incomplete applications will not be considered for an award.
- If the questions do not apply, please put N/A in the space provided.
- Type legibly. Illegible application will not be considered for an award.
- You will be notified by email within 6 weeks of receipt of your application regarding a decision or request for more information.

Required Submitted Documents:
- Complete the Application Form
- Write a letter of application addressed to the WHS Board. The letter should contain a brief explanation about yourself or organization for intended use. Along with a plan on how to use the funds and desired outcomes of the plans. Letter should not exceed two (2) pages.
- Provide two (2) letters of request from within the organization or individuals with significant knowledge of applicant’s experience.
- Personal Essay must be at least 1-2 typed pages, double-spaced, 12-point font / Times New Roman Font. Essay shall contain no grammatical errors. Your essay should answer the following question:
